Welcome to Squamish Youth Rugby. Rugby is a simple game where players run forward carrying the ball until ‘tackled’ and then must stop and pass the ball. ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR A MOUTHGUARD FOR PRACTICE AND GAMES.
What Does my Money Get me?
All players are required to register through Rugby Canada. Details of this process are on our Registration Page. This covers all players’ insurance for one year and is the centre of governance of rugby in Canada. (See Rugby Canada Registration for costs according to age group.) This entitles players to play rugby against other clubs throughout Canada.
All players are required to pay a club fee of $30 for the season. All club fees are paid by e-transfer to squamishyouthrugby@gmail.com Please no cash or cheques as it is very hard to track.
What Should I wear for Rugby?
If you are coming out to play rugby for the first time then all you need to wear is a pair of shorts or track pants (no zippers please) and a T-shirt and hoodie. A pair of cleats is really quite important but please feel free to wear running shoes for the first few training sessions. ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR A MOUTHGUARD FOR ALL PRACTICES AND GAMES (available from Source for Sports in Squamish - $20-25.)
Every player will be issued with a uniform upon payment of club fees. CLICK HERE for instructions for how to wash and look after uniforms.
